Online Perinatal Therapy in New Jersey
I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist in New Jersey (license 37FI00237500) providing virtual therapy for postpartum depression, anxiety, rage, intrusive thoughts, and birth trauma to clients across the state.

I hold LMFT licenses in New Jersey and California, and the perinatal years — pregnancy through postpartum and well beyond — are my entire practice. I use EMDR, CBT, ACT, psychodynamic work, and mindfulness-based approaches, fitted to the person rather than applied to them.

I'm Perinatal Mental Health Certified through Postpartum Support International, EMDR works over video, and the time difference from my California office means late-afternoon sessions on my end are evening sessions on yours — the hour most new-parent schedules actually have.
This work isn’t just about coping, it’s about change.

What I treat for New Jersey clients
Everything in my practice travels by video. Postpartum depression, including the high-functioning version where everyone around you thinks you're fine. Postpartum anxiety and intrusive thoughts and postpartum OCD, a specialty of mine and one of the hardest things to find real treatment for anywhere. Postpartum rage. Birth trauma and NICU trauma — I grew up in the NICU world as a parent, not just a clinician — plus pregnancy after a traumatic birth and the grief of pregnancy loss.
Why a specialist matters more than a ZIP Code
New Jersey has good therapists. What it has fewer of — like everywhere — is clinicians who do perinatal work all day: who don't need intrusive thoughts explained or softened, who treat birth trauma with EMDR rather than around it, and who can tell postpartum rage from a marriage problem in the first session. Certification in perinatal mental health is exactly that specialization, and video is what makes it reachable from Montclair, Cherry Hill, or anywhere between.

Working with someone three time zones away sounds strange until you notice what it buys you: my 4pm is your 7pm. Sessions after the baby is down, without hiring a sitter or losing a lunch break.

How virtual sessions actually work
Secure video, weekly rhythm, your couch. Babies are welcome on laps and mid-session feeding is normal, not an interruption. EMDR runs over video using on-screen bilateral stimulation or guided tapping, at the same pacing as in-person work — it's a standard part of how I treat birth trauma remotely.

What I don't do from California is crisis coverage: if you're in immediate crisis, 988 by call or text is faster than any scheduled session, and we build a local support plan as part of our work.

My practice is private pay and out of network. I provide superbills for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, which many New Jersey PPO plans include — worth one phone call to your plan to ask about "out-of-network outpatient mental health" before we start.
Questions New Jersey clients ask me
Are you actually licensed in New Jersey?
Yes — New Jersey LMFT #37FI00237500, alongside my California license. Teletherapy with New Jersey clients happens under the New Jersey license, exactly as it would with a therapist down the street.

Why would I work with a therapist based in California?
For the specialization. PMH-C certified clinicians who treat postpartum OCD, birth trauma, and NICU trauma as their whole practice are scarce in every state, and video widens your pool from "who's nearby" to "who's right." The time difference is a feature: my afternoon is your evening.

Can EMDR really work over video?
Yes. EMDR translates well to telehealth with on-screen bilateral stimulation or self-administered tapping, and I use it by video routinely for birth trauma. We go at the same pace we would in a room.

Do you take New Jersey insurance?
I'm private pay and out of network. I provide superbills you can submit for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits. What that model buys you: no session cap, no required diagnosis on file, and treatment shaped by what you need rather than what a reviewer authorizes.
